A Philosophy for the Future
Leadership refers to the ability to inspire, and support a group towards achieving a common goal. It involves collaboration and being accountable for the outcome of group decisions. Effective leadership requires unleashing power to those on your team or in your family to make valuable contributions to our society.
Education Story
Starting with "Why"
What is your why? Growing up, I never met my biological father but had a beautiful childhood being raised by my mom and grandma. My mom was a full-time nurse and my grandmother, a retired school custodian. When I tell my story about my "why" you will often hear me utter the names Deborah (mom) and Marie (grandma). I honor my bonus dad Randall and my village of aunts. I am thankful for the sacrifices they all made for me to graduate, teach and make a meaningful impact. It brings me great joy to pay it forward for my students.

Who was your favorite teacher in school? I remember vividly my 3rd and 4th grade teacher Ms. Lovett. Ms. Lovett sparked a love for learning in me that I cannot explain. She provoked me to fall in love with reading and writing. She celebrated me for being her only student to score a level 4... after she unleashed my imagination to run wild during the writing portion of our end of year assessment. She showed me compassion, taught me how to read music as well as play piano. She deemed me her teacher's assistant, stapling papers, typing morning announcement scripts, making bulletin boards and reading to others was all a part of my weekly routine. It was within the four walls of her classroom at Pine Estates Elementary School a future educator was born.
